In honor of November being Diabetes Awareness Month, please take a moment to read some facts and statistics on Type 1 Diabetes.
Type 1 Diabetes – by the Numbers:
- There are 244,000 children and adolescents under age 20 in the U.S. with type 1 diabetes.
- Worldwide, there are 1.5 million children and adolescents under age 20 with type 1 diabetes.
- Your risk for type 1 diabetes is 15x greater if you have next of kin (parent, child, or sibling) with type 1 diabetes.
